Basic Engineering Design (BED) package elaborates the engineering documentation starting froma Process Design Package (PDP) to better transfer the technology information to any EPC Con-tractor for Detail Engineering development and Construction. BED is also used for internaldiscussion and evaluation to recognize the feasibility of the project. Basic engineering designdocumentation covers different operating scenarios in terms of product or capacity variation, feed,offering design solutions for each of the requested cases. It also contains information about allauxiliary facilities essential for operations.

FEED involves mechanical data sheets of the main equipment, typically initiating from the process specifications issued during the BED phase and incorporating the specific requirements of codes and standards to be applied to the project in question.

Detail Engineering Design (DED) is the essential bridge between the basic engineering design and construction phase of a project in order to convert the ideas into reality.
